Some people eat to live, while others live to eat. What about you? How far would you travel for the best meal of your life?
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/12/21/daily-post-live-eat/I eat to live. It's not a secret that I hate eating. I almost never have an appetite and its not uncommon for me to miss meals because I forgot to eat. I'm not anorexic -- I don't think I'm fat. Eating is just not my thing! It's a given that I'm a very picky eater. I am also an extremely slow eater -- pushing and pulling the contents of my plate around waiting for it to magically turn into something more appealing to me.
I was once told that people get hungry because they are bored. Maybe this is why food escapes my mind. I am almost never bored. There is always something that needs to be done or could be done. My mind is always racing with a million things I want to do or could be doing. There never is enough time for it all.
There are rare cases where my body, or rather my tummy, screams for me to feed it something yummy! Not just anything, it is always very specific with what it wants -- spaghetti with meatballs and light on the sauce, pork adobo with hard boiled eggs and carrots, garlic butter seasoned crawfish, steamed crabs with lemon pepper dip, lemon pepper tilapia, miso salmon, steamed artichokes with lemon pepper dip, avocados with lemons, steamed spinach sautéed in garlic, steamed broccoli covered in buttered cheese, the list keeps going! With cravings seldom occurring, I must do all that is in my power to satisfy them. There is nothing like indulging into ones desires!
How far would I travel for the best meal of my life? If possible, to hell and back.
you and my wife are alike. she loves food.
ReplyDeleteI get called a robot a lot because food just isn't important to me. I would take a pill each day if it would nourish me completely.
But if you do find a great hamburger, bbq or chicken marsala let me know.
